Consistent Thread Fit: This tap produces a Class 2B thread, which is a standard fit for general applications. This makes it suitable for a wide range of tasks where a precise, but not overly critical, thread is needed. High-Quality Construction: Made from high-carbon steel, the tap is built to last and provides reliable performance for hand threading in various materials.SPECIFICATIONS: Product Type: Machine Screw Tap Thread Specification: 8-32 NC (National Coarse) Tap Point Style: Taper Tap Chamfer: 8 to 10 threads Flutes: Straight flutes Thread Fit: Class 2B Material: High Carbon Steel (HCS) Country of Origin: USAHOW TO USE: Prepare the Hole: Ensure the hole is properly sized and free of debris. Use a drill bit with the correct tap size for the hole before beginning the tapping process. Align the Tap: Place the tap in a tap wrench and align it perfectly straight with the hole. Apply light downward pressure while turning the tap slowly clockwise to begin cutting the threads. Cut and Clear: After making a quarter to half turn, reverse the direction of the tap by a half turn to break off the chips. This prevents the tap from binding and clears the flutes for the next cut. Repeat the Process: Continue turning the tap clockwise, followed by a half turn counterclockwise, until the tap has cut the threads to the desired depth. Use cutting fluid or oil for harder materials to reduce friction and extend the life of the tap. Remove the Tap: Once the threads are complete, carefully turn the tap counterclockwise to back it out of the hole.BENEFITS OF USING IRWIN 8-32 NC TAPER TAP – BULK (1024): This tap is an excellent choice for a variety of tasks due to its user-friendly design. It is highly effective for rethreading stripped or damaged holes, allowing you to salvage parts and equipment without a complete replacement. The high-carbon steel construction provides a balance of strength and flexibility, reducing the risk of breakage when used properly. Its versatility in working with different materials makes it a go-to tool for any toolbox, from a professional workshop to a home garage.FEATURES: Manual Operation: Hand-operated tool for hand threading.
