Key Features
Faster Threaded Rod WorkThis DEWALT nut runner attachment is built to run nuts on threaded rod up to 3 times faster than doing it by hand. That means less wasted time overhead and less arm fatigue on repetitive hangers, trapeze, and cable tray installs. 100 lb Lift CapacityHardened steel gears give the attachment the muscle to handle demanding threaded rod applications with up to 100 lbs of lifting capacity. If you are working with suspended systems, that added force matters. Quick-Change VersatilityThe quick-change brace system lets you move from screwdriving to nut running in seconds, and the 360 degree rotation helps you work around tight overhead layouts where a straight shot is not always possible.
Overview
DEWALT DWANRRIR IMPACT CONNECT Nut Runner Attachment is a threaded rod nut runner accessory made for impact drivers. This is a nut runner attachment designed for running nuts on threaded rod in overhead support and suspension work. Model Number: DWANRRIR. It is aimed squarely at mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades that spend real time installing trapeze systems, cable trays, and other suspended hardware where hand-running nuts slows the whole job down.
The big reason this attachment matters is speed. DEWALT rates it at up to 3 times faster than running nuts by hand, which is exactly the kind of gain that adds up fast when you are installing repeated supports across a room or an entire floor. Instead of burning time and energy spinning nuts manually, you let the impact driver do the work and keep moving.
This impact driver attachment is also built around access. The head rotates 360 degrees, so you are not stuck needing the perfect straight-on angle to reach the nut. In crowded overhead spaces with rod, strut, tray, conduit, and framing all competing for room, that flexibility is a real advantage. The split socket design also helps with trapped nuts, which matters on multi-level and trapeze systems where access can get awkward fast.
DEWALT did not build this as a one-size-fits-nothing accessory. The DWANRRIR covers 7 nut sizes and 4 rod sizes in one setup, with compatibility for 3/8 inch standard and heavy, 1/2 inch standard and heavy, 1/4 inch standard and heavy, and 5/8 inch standard threaded rod applications. The included inserts are 9/16 inch, 11/16 inch, 3/4 inch, and 7/8 inch, and DEWALT notes that 1/4 inch and 5/8 inch sizes are sold separately. That gives the tool useful range without turning it into a bulky specialty piece that only works for one task.
The quick-change brace system is another practical win. You can attach the nut runner to a compatible impact driver in seconds, then switch back to regular fastening without dragging out a different dedicated tool. For contractors already carrying an impact driver, that is the whole point: add nut-running capability without taking on another motorized platform to charge, store, and haul around.
On the durability side, the hardened steel gears are there for a reason. DEWALT backs the attachment with up to 100 lbs of lifting capacity, which tells you this is made for actual jobsite loading in threaded rod suspension work, not light bench-top assembly. The steel construction also makes sense for a tool that is going to see repetitive torque transfer, overhead use, and contact with metal hardware all day.
Compatibility is broad enough to make this more than a brand-only add-on. DEWALT positions it for use with 20V MAX impact drivers and also lists compatibility with select pro-grade 18V impact drivers from other brands. It is optimized for several DEWALT models including DCF840, DCF845, DCF850, DCF860 on setting 2, DCF870, DCF885, DCF887, and DCF888, with additional compatibility listed for select CRAFTSMAN, BOSCH, FLEX, KOBALT, MAKITA, METABO, and MILWAUKEE drivers.
Who should buy it? If you are an electrician hanging cable tray, an HVAC installer building threaded rod support systems, or a plumber working overhead suspension assemblies, this accessory makes a lot of sense. It is also a smart pickup for general contractors and commercial crews doing repetitive rod-based installs. If you rarely touch threaded rod, it is probably more specialty than you need. If threaded rod is part of your weekly work, the DEWALT DWANRRIR IMPACT CONNECT Nut Runner Attachment is the kind of accessory that saves enough time to justify itself quickly.

Move Faster on Overhead Threaded Rod
If your day includes repeated threaded rod fastening, this attachment cuts out the slow part. It turns an impact driver into a dedicated nut running setup without forcing you to carry a separate powered tool just for one task.
- Rated up to 3 times faster than running nuts by hand
- Built for threaded rod applications used in trapeze, tray, and suspension work
Built to Handle Real Jobsite Load
This is not a light-duty adapter meant for occasional tinkering. Hardened steel gears and a stated lift capacity up to 100 lbs make it suitable for the repetitive overhead work commercial crews deal with every day.
- Up to 100 lbs lift capacity
- Steel construction for durability in repetitive metal fastening work
Get Into Tight Layouts Without Fighting the Tool
The rotating head and quick-change brace are what make this attachment practical instead of gimmicky. You can clip it on fast, work around obstructions, and switch back to standard impact driver use when the rod work is done.
- 360 degree rotation for better access in cramped overhead spaces
- Quick-change brace system connects in seconds
