Overview

The DEWALT DCS692B 60V MAX 9 in. Brushless Cordless Cut-Off Saw is a battery-powered cut-off saw built for concrete, pavestones, steel, and rebar. This is a cut-off saw designed for fast cutting and scoring in masonry and metal on the jobsite. Model Number: DCS692B. If you need a cordless concrete saw that can make deep cuts without dragging a cord or gas engine around, this is the kind of tool that earns its keep quickly.

What matters first is capacity and speed. DEWALT rates this saw at up to 6,600 no-load RPM, and the 9 inch wheel delivers up to 3-1/4 inch cut depth. On the job, that translates to single-pass work in many common cutting applications, including pavestones, rebar, and concrete scoring. Fewer passes usually means straighter work, less heat buildup, and less time spent fighting the material.

This saw is also set up for real jobsite movement, not just bench specs. The 5-position guard helps you adjust the cutting angle for better sightlines and access when space is tight. The 3-position front handle gives you more control for both horizontal and vertical cuts, which matters when you’re switching between different materials or working around installed surfaces where body position changes from cut to cut.

DEWALT built this one with an all-metal drivetrain, which is worth paying attention to because it means there are no belts to maintain or tension. That is one less wear item to think about, and it fits the kind of tool this is: a hard-use cut-off saw meant for rough work. The onboard battery box is also latched and sealed to protect the battery in harsh jobsite conditions, and it is large enough to accept the DCB615 battery, sold separately.

For demanding cuts, the saw includes an integrated heavy-load indicator light that gives you power and runtime feedback while you work. That is useful when you’re pushing through dense material and want a better read on how hard the tool is working before you overdo the cut or burn unnecessary runtime. DEWALT also includes a 2-stage trigger switch to help prevent accidental activation, which makes sense on a high-speed cutting tool like this.

Dust control is another strong point. This saw is listed as OSHA Table 1 compliant for dust management when used with its dual-sided water feed system. For concrete cutting and scoring, that is a real-world advantage, especially on indoor work, renovation jobs, or commercial sites where dust control is not optional. It is also built with WIRELESS TOOL CONTROL functionality, designed to link with other compatible tools for cord-free operation, and it is Tag Ready for tracking through the DEWALT Tool Connect app when used with a DEWALT tag, sold separately.

This is a strong fit for concrete contractors, masonry crews, utility work, site prep, remodeling, and anyone doing regular metal and masonry cutting who wants cordless mobility without stepping down in performance. It is sold as a tool only, so it makes the most sense for users already on the DEWALT 60V MAX platform or those who specifically want this saw’s cordless capability and are prepared to add the battery and charger separately.

Pro Tip

Set the 5-position guard and 3-position front handle before you start the cut, not halfway through it. On a deep-cutting saw like the DCS692B, getting your sightline and body position right up front makes it easier to stay on line and use the full 3-1/4 inch depth cleanly.

Tool Nut’s Take

Tool Nut’s Take

A serious cordless cut-off saw for crews who actually cut concrete and steel

The DEWALT DCS692B 60V MAX 9 in. Brushless Cordless Cut-Off Saw is the kind of tool that makes sense when cords, setup time, and jobsite mobility slow you down more than the cut itself.

• Who it’s for: Contractors and tradespeople cutting concrete, pavestones, steel, and rebar who want cordless mobility without dropping to a light-duty tool.
• Why it stands out: The 3-1/4 inch cut depth, 6,600 RPM brushless motor, all-metal drivetrain, and sealed battery box make this a real production tool, not just a convenience saw.
• Worth knowing: This is a bare tool, so plan on adding a compatible battery and charger if you are not already on DEWALT 60V MAX. The included wheels are a nice bonus and make the saw more job-ready out of the box.
