Key Features

E-Clutch ControlWhen a big mixing paddle or large drill bit binds up, the integrated E-Clutch system helps shut the tool down to improve control. That matters when you are mixing heavy material or drilling with large-diameter accessories that can twist a tool hard in your hands. 60V FLEXVOLT PowerThis cordless mixer drill is built to replace a corded mixer for a lot of jobsite work. DEWALT rates it for up to 19 premixed drywall buckets, 17 buckets of tile mortar, or 9 buckets of concrete on a single charge with a DCB606 battery. Set Your GripThe 3-position side handle and variable speed trigger make this tool easier to manage whether you are mixing overhead, drilling between studs, or starting a large bit cleanly. More control usually means less fatigue and fewer mistakes.

Overview

The DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Mixer/Drill with E-Clutch System, model DCD130B, is a heavy-duty cordless mixing and drilling tool built for tradespeople who need real torque without dragging a cord around the jobsite. This is a mixer/drill designed for mixing mortar, thinset, drywall mud, fiber-reinforced concrete, and handling demanding drilling applications. If you work in tile, drywall, remodeling, concrete, or rough carpentry, this is the kind of tool that earns its keep fast.

What makes this tool matter is simple: it is built to do jobs that normally push a standard drill past its comfort zone. DEWALT says it delivers over 2x the power of its corded mixer, and the runtime numbers back up the idea that this is meant for production work, not light duty cleanup. Using a DCB606 FLEXVOLT 6.0Ah battery, it is rated to mix up to 19 premixed drywall buckets at 4.5 gallons, 17 buckets of 5-gallon tile mortar, or 9 buckets of 4.5-gallon concrete. That is the kind of output that lets you move around a site instead of hunting for an outlet or dragging an extension cord through wet material.

The big feature here is the integrated E-Clutch system. On a mixer/drill, control is not a nice extra. It is the whole game. When a paddle catches or a large bit loads up suddenly, tool rotation can get violent in a hurry. DEWALT built this tool with anti-rotation shutoff technology that detects that motion and stops the tool if needed, with a red indicator LED that lets you know the system has engaged. For anyone mixing thick material or drilling large holes in framing, that is a feature you will appreciate the first time the tool binds instead of trying to wrench itself out of your hands.

The rest of the design is set up for real work. The brushless motor is there for durability and efficiency under heavy load. The 1/2 inch keyed chuck is the right call on a tool like this because it gives a secure hold on larger mixing paddles and drilling accessories that would make a lighter-duty chuck earn its failure. The continuous variable speed trigger gives you better control at startup, which matters when you want to avoid splashing a bucket of mortar or when you are walking a large self-feed or auger bit into material cleanly.

DEWALT also gave the DCD130B a 3-position side handle, and that is more important than it sounds on paper. Mixing and heavy drilling put your body in awkward positions all day long. Being able to shift handle position helps you brace properly whether you are standing over a mixing bucket, drilling overhead between studs, or boring horizontally through framing. That is how a tool goes from powerful to actually usable for long stretches.

For jobsite practicality, this is a cordless battery-powered platform tool, so mobility is a real advantage. No cord to manage around mud, buckets, scaffolding, or partially finished interiors. It is also a bare tool, which is worth calling out clearly: battery and charger are sold separately. If you are already on the DEWALT FLEXVOLT platform, that is a plus because you can drop it into your existing system. If you are not, plan on adding the right battery and charger so you can get the runtime this tool was designed around.

In drilling applications, the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Mixer/Drill with E-Clutch System is more than just a mixer with a chuck. Its brushless motor, keyed 1/2 inch chuck, variable speed control, and side-handle layout make it a solid option for large-diameter hole drilling where control matters as much as raw output. Image evidence also shows it being used with large wood-boring accessories in framing lumber, which fits the product positioning as a demanding-application drill.

Who should buy it? Pros first. Tile setters, drywall contractors, remodelers, concrete crews, and carpenters who need a serious mixing drill or a heavy-duty cordless drill for larger bits are the target user. Serious DIYers can absolutely use it, but this is not a casual homeowner drill. It is purpose-built for heavier materials, larger accessories, and tougher applications where torque, runtime, and control all matter.

Work Without the Cord

For overhead drilling and punch-list work inside framed spaces, cordless matters. You get the reach and mobility of a battery platform tool without giving up the control you need for larger accessories.

• Brushless motor built for demanding drilling and mixing work
• E-Clutch system helps improve user control if the tool detects sudden rotational bind-up
• Variable speed trigger helps you start cleanly instead of jumping straight to full speed

Built for Heavy Mixing and Big Boring

This tool is made for the kind of load that exposes the limits of a standard drill. Whether you are mixing thinset or boring large holes in framing, the layout and chuck style are aimed at keeping the accessory planted and the tool under control.

• 1/2 inch keyed chuck for a secure grip on larger paddles and heavy-duty bits
• 3-position side handle lets you brace the tool based on the angle of the job
• Rated up to 600 RPM, which is right in the zone for controlled heavy-duty mixing and drilling

Pro Tip

When you are mixing, start slow with the paddle already buried in the material and use the side handle position that lets your off-hand brace against the tool, not just hang on. It keeps splatter down and makes the E-Clutch system less likely to surprise you with a sudden stop from a bad startup angle.

Tool Nut’s Take

Tool Nut’s Take

DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Cordless Mixer/Drill with E-Clutch System is the cordless answer for heavy mixing work

If you are tired of wrestling a corded mixer around buckets, mud, and half-finished rooms, this one makes a strong case for going cordless without stepping down in capability.

• Who it’s for: Pros mixing drywall compound, tile mortar, or concrete, plus carpenters and remodelers drilling large holes in framing.
• Why it stands out: The combination of FLEXVOLT power, a 1/2 inch keyed chuck, a 3-position side handle, and an E-Clutch system makes it feel purpose-built instead of just oversized.
• Worth knowing: This is a bare tool, so plan on supplying the battery and charger. If you already run FLEXVOLT packs, it is an easy add. If you do not, factor that into the buy.
